Syn Update 9/5/24

Hey, unfortunately we have to suspend public events for a while.   If you pre paid for an event please message us your name and we will let you know the options.

I’m honestly not upset.  I never liked where we were at and have been looking for a while anyway.  The landlord was great and we didn’t need a space for long.  I wish we had a bit more heads up but it is what it is.

So what’s going on?   In most cities there are guidelines for private clubs. It’s why they charge a membership.  As long as you are a private club, adult activity is permitted.  Tulsa seems to have no such guidelines.   There is a way to have a club like ours but it is not an easy path.

We are custom building what should be a fantastic location that will fulfill all their requirements but it’s about a year away.  To bridge that gap I think we do have a location in the meantime.  However it will take a few months to get all the requirements ironed out for there.  The city does not do things quickly or efficiently.   I’m hoping to be back hosting public events in Jan of 2025.

I’ve been doing this for 20 years now with Syn and my old club.  Years ago Tulsa had several clubs and we all got along and everyone did well.  You had lots of options and they were all different.

Unfortunately that is not the case anymore.  We have a small group that is within the LS that does not want any clubs in the area.  It’s why Tulsa doesn’t have anyone else and why we have had issues ever since we moved into the city limits.   These are people that tried to host their own events and failed.  They seem to be really upset that Syn is successful.  I have a pretty good idea who it is, however most of you never heard of them and if you had you most likely already know who I am talking about.

I am not mad at the city.   Everyone has been very helpful if not a bit frustrating.  I have the Fire Marshal on speed dial and they were trying to find a way to keep us open.  The process sucks but it’s a process that everyone would need to do.  We do not seem to be targeted from the city.

I was told multiple times they would just leave us if the same handful of people weren’t complaining. However it’s what we are supposed to do so I am not blaming anyone but myself.

This is my livelihood.  Syn not only takes care of me and my son, but also my Mom and several employees count on the income as well.  I have been doing this so long I can’t go get a normal job so I have to make this work.  Too many people depend on me to let this fail.

I appreciate each and everyone of you.  Especially those of you that stick with us through all the ups and downs.

Hope to see you soon.
